State of Steals is a personal blog, written and edited with original graphics created by State of Steals LLC. State of Steals shares designer products for the home as well as more affordable pieces inspired by the high-end products. I recommend products aligned with my own design taste as well as trends throughout the broader home decor industry. I aim to feature products that could translate across a variety decor themes and it’s my hope that the products I share could find a place in your home!
Do you have a look-for-less find that you’d love to share with others? Please feel free to share your find with me (info@stateofsteals.com) and I’ll be sure to give you credit for your sleuth-y shopping! Likewise, if there’s a high-end item you’re coveting and would like me to search for a Steal, please send me your reader request. Unfortunately, a dupe does not exist for every product (wouldn’t that be nice!) so some less-expensive product options may not be identical to the Splurge version, you might have to tilt your head and squint.
State of Steals understands that terms given to featured products such as “affordable”, “attainable”, and “budget-friendly” are subjective to the individual. State of Steals also means no disrespect nor criticism towards the retailers and manufacturers of the more expensive product versions that I feature.
I cannot attest to the quality of each item that I feature. (As much as I’d love to see each piece in my home, girlfriend would be broke if she purchased all of these items.) State of Steals does aim to share products from retailers that I have personally had positive experiences, however, every transaction and interaction with these retailers may differ from person to person. I will not share products that have majority negative reviews at the time of posting, even if the product is a dirt cheap dupe!
I may receive compensation from a retailer to feature and review products. In such circumstances, I will convey to my readers if the review is a paid advertisement as I am a firm believer in transparency. For any items that I’ve personally purchased, I will share my honest opinion and review. I would love for you to comment if you’ve had a great experience with a product! When you consider purchasing a recommended product, I highly encourage you to read product reviews and be aware of the return policy of the particular retailer. The product prices shared in my posts are in US Dollar and are accurate at the time of posting and exclude taxes, shipping, and available coupons/discounts. Product prices in the post may reflect a temporary sale that is occurring at the time of posting. If you’re able to find a coupon code and save even more, my hats off to you, fellow savvy shopper! Please be aware, some retailers may change the price of items at a future date. State of Steals shares items that are currently in stock with the linked retailers at the time of posting. When viewing older posts, some items may no longer be in stock. Some items may be on back-order at the time of publishing. If sharing back-ordered products, I aim to share products scheduled to be re-stocked in 3 months or less.
The links in my posts may contain affiliate links. Affiliate links may result in me receiving a small commission if you make a purchase through my particular links. Affiliate links do not affect the price that you, the consumer, will pay. So if you’re feeling kind when you’re going to purchase a recommended product, please use our link and help a sister out!
The DIY tutorials featured by State of Steal are methods that worked for me and I know that no DIY project is complete without some mess-ups, I’ve been there! State of Steals encourages you to practice safety when operating tools or handling hazardous materials involved in featured project tutorials. State of Steals readers should follow the manufacturers’ recommendations for products featured in my tutorials. Outcomes of the projects will vary as no individual skill set is the same (that’s what makes us humans special!).
